Perserverance

If I was offered $50 now or $100 dollars later I would take the $50 now because you never know what is going to happen in the future whether the guy is going to die or he wont be able to get a hold of you later. I wouldn't trust it in the future.

Eventually the goal that I want to achieve is to become a criminal psychologist. I have wanted to be this for a while now and I want to do it by going to college in New York and perusing that career in the city of Manhattan.

Art

Art to me is an expression of something that you think or an emotion that you feel. When I create art I think of something that makes me happy or I think of a story to inspire what I create. Art can be anything from the standard drawing to designing clothes or painting or being an architect; art can come in any form.

My favorite artist is Jackson Pollock, he is most famous for his so called "splatter paint" art. He usually paints the canvas a background color and then takes many different colors of paint and flings it on to his art space. He is very talented and to me he expresses art perfectly.

Thanksgiving

The holiday that is coming up very soon is Thanksgiving and that is when I see my entire family on one day. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays right after Christmas which is cool because they are right next to each other. In my family a traditional Thanksgiving day includes everyone from my family all going to my cousin Vida's house. In total about 15 of us join and celebrate together. Every year my aunt makes a pumpkin pie that everyone devours in about ten minutes.

Usually the day starts off with everyone joining at my cousins house around 3. After everyone gets there my sister, cousins and I go to the kitchen and help finish what is left to make of the thanksgiving feast. My dad and uncles all sit down on the couch and put on a football or baseball game and enjoy themselves until dinner comes. Around 5:00 when the table is set and everything is prepared we gather around a long wooden table that seats all of us. My little cousins sit at there own table off to the side so they can enjoy and talk and play with themselves rather than sit around a big table and be annoyed with all the parents talking. After everyone is seated and we get our servings we all enjoy in silence usually for the first five minutes.

After dinner is one and everyone has had a slice of pie we all sit around the table for a while and share old stories from our childhoods and reminisce about the past year and what good has happened. The reason this is one of my favorite holidays is because of the tradition and the family gatherings that take place on this occasion.

*CHRISTMAS*

Christmas is my favorite holiday and winter is my favorite season of the year. My favorite part is when my family and I get our tree and we take it home that night and decorate it. My sister and I usually decorate it while my father is making dinner. My brother usually hangs lights or helps my father with setting the holiday table for dinner.

My favorite christmas was when I went to New York to visit my mother and we went to rockefellor center and went ice skating. It was a typical day in New York and it was also my favorite. My mother had lived in New York for 4 years and I had been there through every season except for winter. After I had been there for the winter I decided that my favorite time to go would then on be winter.

When I finish up my traditional family morning on christmas day, around 4 we head on over to my aunts house in Mission Viejo. This is where we have our big family christmas with all my uncles, and aunts and cousins there to celebrate together. We eat dinner and open presents afterwards. Over all christmas is my favorite holiday throughout the whole year. 

My Top Five

The genre that I would choose my top five favorite items in would be television shows.

1. My favorite TV show is Vampire Diaries. I like it because it has many plot twists and is an engaging show to watch. It is about vampires as said in the title and it also has one of my favorite actresses Nina Dobrev.
2. My second favorite show is Breaking Bad. This show is in my top five because it is crazy and keeps me entertained the entire time. They just finished up their last season in September and I was at the edge of my seat every week I would watch it. 
3. My third favorite show is Family Guy. When I watch this show it tends to make me laugh for almost the entire duration of the episode. I have finished all ten seasons on Netflix and I watch the new ones and re-runs on TBS.
4. Also in my top five is Law and Order: special victims unit. I love this show because it is what helped me decide that I wanted to become a criminal psychologist. Every episode is different and I enjoy being surprised by whatever they decide to play.
5. The last show in my top five is Greys Anatomy. I watched this show a lot when I was younger and it was not until recently that I decided to actually follow it. They have been on the air for 10 years and are finishing up one of their last seasons. on lifetime.

I would get all these things with the $205 dollars because I believe that they would help me the most when I am trying to survive on an island by myself. I would get the machete for getting coconuts or anything that I need like for making shelter and for killing wild animals if they started to attack me. The first aid kit is pretty self explanitory, if I get cut or hurt I could bandage myself up or I could sterilize things with the acohol that the kit provides. I would sterilize knives or any wounds that I would have. And finally I would get the canopy so that insects do not invade my camp site. And I do not get malaria.

my conversation with Elton John

If I could talk to Elton John I would ask him a series of questions about his life, music and how he came about knowing what he wanted to do. I would probably start off by telling him that his music influenced me greatly and I have many of his songs on my phone. I grew up listening to his music along with Queen, Areosmith, Johnny Cash and many others.

When we would talk I would ask him to tell me stories from his nights on the stage and his parites and the parties that he has been to. I would ask him about how coming out with the news that he was gay affected his life, and if it affected him in a negative or positive way. It would be super cool if I could talk to Elton John and I hope that one day I can.  

Stranded

If I was on an island and I could only bring three things on an island I would bring a machete, blankets and an endless supply of food. I would bring a machete so that I could cut down trees and make shelter so that if it rains i would be alright. Also I would bring that in case there were animals there and i had to kill them. It would be important to be able to fight off intruding animals because they could potentially kill you.

The second thing that I would bring would be a lot of blankets. I would bring these so that even if I don't have a lot of shelter I can still be warm. This item could be used for multiple use like if I got cut in my leg or arm I could tear a part of a blanket with the machete and tie it above the wound to keep the pressure in tact.

The final thing I would bring would be an endless amount of food so that I would never go hungry. It would be something that doesn't require fire and does not go bad. If the island had fruit and stuff on it then that would be what I would go to next if i ever had ran out which wouldn't be for a while or ever. The only thing that could go wrong with bringing food is that it would attract animals which wouldn't be good.

My Wisdom

If I had a child and if they were at the age were they were exposed to drugs and alcohol I would give them a talk. I would probably start off by telling them all the peer pressure they are going to experience and to try to stay strong through it. If my kids wanted to try it I would understand the curiosity but tell them that they have an entire lifetime to try it, and that they don't have to mess up what they have going now to potentially have "a good night".

I would tell him or her to stay away from people who are part of that society or who are associated with that kind of behavior. Over all I would trust my children until they gave me a reason not to and when they did and if they got in trouble for drugs then I would have a more serious conversation with them about the use and abuse of drugs and how it can impact your life.

Heroin

After reading that article I understand what heroin can do to you. For everyone who has lost their life to heroin I really do feel sorry for their families and friends. As the article said, the affects of heroin can be misunderstood or unrecognized by teens wanting to experiment and see what it is. A lot of the time people wanting to use it do not understand the repercussions or toll it can not only have on you but your entire family and friends and people who care about you.

It is all physically, mentally and emotionally difficult and once you start using your sense of sanity or the grasp that you have on things is completly changed and altered. I hope that people read this article and understand that this is a terrible thing to do and get addicted to. When people try it once they are most likely going to try it again and become addicted to the sbustance. Reading this article helps me grasp the terrifing realization that kids everywhere are doing this and getting addicted at young ages. I hope people read and take a serious look at this article and try to make a change.

I do not smoke and i never have in my entire life. What is very common is for people mainly teens to start smoking because their friends do it and they feel pressured. I think that people who smoke cigarettes are not bad people but I personally would never do it. I understand that people have a lot of stress so they need the cigarettes but people who do it for no reason to just fit in is stupid to me. If you have to change who you are to fit in with people that you are surrounded with, I believe that those people are not your real friends because if they were than they would want to look out for you because they know how bad it is and how addictive it is with the nicotine it contains.

With cigarettes even though they are not as bad as other drugs, they are still one of the leading causes of death in the united states. It can cause lung cancer which is very common among smokers of an older age. What you do now can affect you for a long time after you stop smoking, not everyone is a victim of these symptoms but the chances of t happening to you is extremely greater than someone who never picks up a cigarette. 

FOR

I am for marijuana because I don't think that it is something that is causing major damage to something or someone. Marijuana was made to help people and although some people abuse it, it is still there to help with cancer or something like that. A lot of people think that marijuana is a gateway drug to worse drugs like cocaine and heroin but I don't believe that.

There was a reason why clinics for weed were created and I don't think that we should shut them down and make them seem like a terrible place. People actually need help with pain and depression and stuff like that. Marijuana can even be help full for people with eating disorders because one of the effects it has on you is that it makes you eat a lot. It has helped people survive with chemotherapy treatments and back pain and many other illnesses.

There is no record of anyone dieing from marijuana. Compared to the effects of other more serious drugs like methamphetamine it is not bad. I think every one should calm down and just accept it,

1. 7 wigh ins because if you have eight donuts and you put one on the scale and compare ever other donut to the one already on the scale you will figure which  one is the heavy donut.

3. If you have the pennies in a piramid 4 on the bottom then 3 then 2 then 1. Take the top two tears that contains two pennies and 1 penny at the top and put it on the bottom so that the piramid is reversed. Instead of it facing up it would face down.

My Favorite Band

QUEEN

My favorite band is queen because I like what they say in there song and what they are all about. Freddie Mercury is the lead singer and he is also gay which was a topic a lot of people talked about back when he was famous. He was born September 5, 1946 and died November 4, 1991 because of AIDS. He created many of his songs and one of my favorites is Bohemian Rhapsody which was also called the rare number 1 twice in the UK. 

The band as a whole has been interviewed many times and has been on the cover of many magazines including the very popular Rolling Stone editorial. Ever since I was little my father has played a lot of that type of music like ACDC, Styx and Aerosmith. I have grown p to love it and I listen to it all the time. It reminds me of Saturday evenings going to my uncles house and listening to it on the way over there.

I think I will always love Queen and listen to them even when I get older. I want future generations to appreciate and know the type of music that a lot of people listened to many years ago. Even though Freddie Mercury died his soul will stay with each of his songs forever and he will not be forgotten.

My favorite hobby

Something that I enjoy doing during my free time is going to the movies. I like doing this activity because every time you go you get to see something new and usually it is something you want to see rather than something you have to see. You can go with your friends or your family and everyone can enjoy what the theater has to offer.
One of the things that a movie theater has that your home usually doesn't is a wide spread variety of any candy or drink that you want. Even though it could be a little expensive sitting through a movie with your favorite treat is the best. Something that a movie theater is known for more than anything else is there popcorn and cold atmosphere inside the theater.
The price of a ticket is usually $12.50 which is expensive compared to what it used to be but it is worth it, especially when it is a type of movie that you like and could watch over and over again. When you put yourself in the atmosphere of a movie theater I honestly believe that I am in the movie. Everyone should partake in the activity.

My Favorite Movie

My favorite movie is Inception because of the plot and how it plays out. This movie has many plot twists and it stars Joseph Gordon Levitt who portrays mostly the man who runs the operation, Leonardo DiCaprio who is the main actor and is good at telling the story, Ellen Page who is mainly the aprentice and the one who is just learning how things work and she does that very well . In this movie it is all about dreams and how you can control the dreams that you are in. There are levels in the dreams that you have so if you fall asleep in your dream you go further down a level. The only way to be woken up is to be jolted by the sensation of falling.

In this movie it is shown that people who go into these deep sleeps can sometimes not get out and are paralyzed into a state called limbo where they are stuck forever. In the movie Leonardo who plays the character Cobb and his wife Mal played by Marion Cottilard build their own world together in a dream and when they came out Mal didn't know whether she was still in a dream or  she was in reality. Marion who plays Mal, takes on the role very seriously and I can believe that she means every word she says within the movie.Even though Cobb tells her that its real and that they are not in a dream Mal is suicidle and doesnt believe for sure. She goes back and forth between life and death.

This movie is one of my favorites because it has many plot twists and keeps you thinking for the entire movie. It is very mentally engaging and is challenging to figure out which is why I love it. I think everyone should see this movie at least once.

GMOs

A GMO is short for a genetically modified organism. It includes plants and animals it is created by the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology. Monsanto is one of the biggest operations for creating GMO's in the world. They conduct the splicing of genes with food and crops especially more than animals.

I am not for genetically changing the way that we eat out food
because as the non GMO project says"cross-pollination and consequently contamination is possible. One of the most popular items that GMO companies target is corn production. GMO companies have put their product and process in 88% of all corn products in the United States.

Being Charitable

The charity that I want to give money to and would donate to is ASPCA. ASPCA stands for american society for the prevention of cruelty to animals. It is one of the biggest and well known foundations to help animal cruelty. It was founded in 1866 and was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. The founder of ASPCA is Henry Bergh said “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”

I love animals so to find a shelter and a charity that helps protect against animal cruelty and abuse against animals is really cool. I have had many animals thorughout my life time and even if it was my sisters cat or my brothers chinchilla I loved all of them. I would appreciate a way to find out how I could voluteer or help out at the shelter. Not only would it exceed the community service hours that I have to complete but I think it would also be an enriching experience. 

When I see the commercials on TV they come off as very sad and depressing but I think that it is good to show what animal cruelty is really about instead of sheltering the idea of it. The way that they provide help for animals not just cats and dogs but ever animal is very noble. I enjoy ASPCA and what they have to offer and I would advise you to get involved with them as well.

my expertise

 My expertise is in the field of art, mostly painting rather than sketching. I did an art project very similar to this picture on the left. I had painted the canvas black splattered it with white paint and put crayons all around the border in color order. After that I took a lighter and burned the edges of the crayons and they dripped onto the canvas. I love painting because I can create anything I want and there is nothing that I can't do.

One of my favorite artists is Jackson Pollock who created the painting on the right. The reason I like his art so much is because he was one of the first people to create this type of painting. After these assortmant of paintings were created it stirred up a lot of inspiration between other artists. I enjoy the looking at the detail between the lines and splatters of his paintings. Some of them are very inticate and interesting to look at. I have done one of these types of paintings before; I painted the background teal and used silver white and black paint to splatter all over the canvas. It is still hanging in my room to this day

I am a very enthhusiastic about art because I love to create new things. I get my inspiration from everyday things like the sky or even just cars passing me on he road. I would thank Jackson Pollock though for giving me the inspiration to first start painting in the beginning when I was just 12 years old.

The Best Thing I Did This Summer

The best thing I did this summer was going to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and watched the Bugs bunny symphony perform. That day my father, sister and I went to LA to see the live orchestra play with the classic Loony Tunes shows in the background. We started off the day at 2 in the afternoon and drove up there which took about an hour. When we got there we had about 2 hours to waste before heading to the show, so we walked up and down Hollywood blvd. and saw the stars on the sidewalk and went into the wax museum. After about an hour we decided to have dinner and we went to Johnny Rockets in the big strip mall in west Hollywood. My sister and I both ordered a grilled cheese while my father got a salad and bacon burger.
After dinner it was time for the show so we started walking because it was very close to our location. On our way we saw a candy store and my father said that my sister and I could each pick something out so I got twix and she got skittles. When we got the the bowl we sat in our assigned seats which were right in the middle and enjoyed the show. The conductor came out and said a few words before the show began and thanked us all for coming then the show really began. The Loony Tunes signature song came on and we sat back on the cool summer night and listened while the symphony played for about 2 hours. Overall it was a great night and my family and I really enjoyed the music as well as the atmosphere that West Hollywood had to offer.
